Some zombies just messed with the wrong Mexican…and Buffy!

If this groovy-lookin’ Call of Duty expansion pack were the entire game, they’d have my $60.00 faster than you can say “They’re coming to get you, Barbara.”  And, yes, the trailer’s grindhouse thing is sooo 2009, but whatever, it’s still terrific.

Hey kid, have you played Dragon Age II yet?

Well, if you have you might be interested in what I have to say about the game over at my other site, Positronic Halloween, the internet jukebox that plays nuthin’ but my rambling reviews of movies, games, and other stuff like that thar.

Fair warning, this one’s not so much a review of the game as a long-winded and self-indulgent contemplation about the game’s themes and story. Suffices to say, lots of story beats are spoiled.

Still, if you have a few minutes to kill and want to read what a guy with an English degree and a passion for reading too much into things has to say about a video game where the biggest draw is cutting dudes in half with a sword the length of your entire body, click away.

Things Look Pretty Good in The Dragon Age

The past week has been pretty busy over here in the Sean Cave. First off, the new job has me working twice as much as I used to, although I do have the benefit of doing it from the big ol’ comfy office chair in the ‘home office’ (referred to in the apartment floor plan as the Dining Room).

The other major time suck of the past week has been Dragon Age II.

I’ll write more about this game once I’ve completed it. It won’t be much of a review per say, but there are some very interesting approaches to story and narrative in this one that I want to talk about.

In the meantime, Stacie Ponder’s finished the game and she’s posted a ‘spoilery’ link to an interview with one of the key art teams for the game. Needless to say, as a Dragon Age nerd, I love this shit. I mean, look at this freakin’ Hurlock…

Dragon Age II comes out today

That is all.
